Meet Kim Fitzpatrick – Care Coordinator for Leaf Complex Care
Kim has been working in the health and social care sector for about 10 years. She started her career by volunteering at a youth centre, before doing care work with elderly people.
From this she developed a specialist interest in dementia and then joined an enabling service in Devon, working with people who had acquired a brain injury. It was here that she really flourished. She managed a large team and supported a lot of patients. The focus was on rehabilitating individuals so that they could regain their independence in their community.
She then went on to work with people who had communication needs, such as deaf or deaf- blind, which was a fascinating area of work, and which meant that Kim learned different methods of communication. She still has an interest in this area and is currently looking at getting a BSL qualification.
Kim joined Leaf Exeter as a clinician before becoming Care Coordinator in July 2021.
In her own time Kim enjoys the outdoor, loves music and is a great lover of animals with two cats and a dog at home.
